    Introduction

Joint integration debuts at IBC Amsterdam 2026, closing the gap between access decisions and playback experience

Today we announce our partnership with Bitmovin, the leading provider of video streaming solutions.

This partnership connects two parts of the streaming stack that have always been separate systems: the decision about who a viewer is and what they are entitled to see, and the delivery of the video itself. It also looks forward to the future together, and how authentication and authorization works in the world of agentic traffic.

MonetizationOS handles the decision layer. We resolve identity, entitlement, and the right experience for each user in under 50 milliseconds, at the edge. Bitmovin’s Player handles the delivery layer, managing playback across every device and exposing the configuration and events model that controls the viewer experience: quality levels, offline access permissions, and latency profiles.

The integration removes the gap between those two layers. A single entitlement decision made by MonetizationOS flows directly into Bitmovin’s Player at load time. When circumstances change mid-stream, such as a trial ending or a live event shifting tiers, Bitmovin’s events model sends the signal back to MonetizationOS, which responds in real time. No custom engineering is required to connect the two.

Bitmovin owns encoding, playback and observability, we then take decisions when it comes to who should get what stream, at what quality, and under what terms. The partnership ensures that these decisions are made quickly and seamlessly as part of the viewer’s experience.

Some example use cases:

  • Video quality by subscription tier - MonetizationOS resolves entitlement and passes a quality ceiling to the player. Output: enforced bitrate caps per tier, changeable in minutes, not with an app release.
  • Mid-stream conversion for metered viewing - MonetizationOS tracks consumption and fires the upgrade prompt at the exact playback position the meter runs out. Output: a paywall moment that’s tunable without touching player code.
  • Low-latency streams for sports add-ons - MonetizationOS gates the low-latency profile behind a specific entitlement; Bitmovin’s Player serves it only to sessions that clear the check. Output: a sellable add-on with pricing decoupled from delivery.
  • Geo rights enforcement and blackouts - MonetizationOS resolves location and rights window in real time and instructs the player to block, downgrade, or substitute. Output: blackout rules editable by the rights team, with an audit trail - not logic buried in a build.

“Every streaming business needs to make more from every household - that’s a packaging and pricing challenge. With Bitmovin and MonetizationOS, they can now solve it themselves, in real time, inside the player they already run. Each viewer gets the right product and offer individually instead of one standard price - so you can ship, learn, iterate, driving new revenue growth.” - James Henderson, CEO, MonetizationOS.
‍
“Monetization is a focus for every streaming service and Bitmovin’s Player has a range of configurations available to change the content and capabilities that subscribers have access to. This integration with MonetizationOS gives publishers huge control over Bitmovin’s Player configuration to build intelligent monetization models that maximize revenue for their digital business. The integration is also complemented by Bitmovin’s Observability & AI solutions to ensure that streaming services have a complete picture of their monetization performance.” - James Varndell, VP Product, Bitmovin.
‍

MonetizationOS and Bitmovin will both be at IBC in Amsterdam this week, where broadcasters, streaming providers and technology partners gather each September. The integration will be shown there (Hall 5, 5.F72) alongside sessions on where sports rights, publishing and streaming revenue go next.
